Essie Marie Clark, age 81, passed away on Monday January 9, 2017 at Abingdon Health and Rehab. Essie will be remembered for her love of children. In addition to rearing her own children, she was a positive influence and home provider for over 30 foster children.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Archie Lee Clark; her parents Doak and Lula Mae Russell; sisters Mamie Irene Perez, Mary Sue Whited, and Thelma Camper; and brother Gene Russell. She is survived by sons Michael Taylor and wife Jill of Abingdon, VA, Glen Taylor and wife Becky of Brooklyn, MS, and Darrell Taylor of Bristol, TN; brother Alfred Russell of Richlands, VA; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
A graveside service for Essie Marie Clark will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday January 12, 2017 at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Dr. Don Paxton officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service.
