Etta S. Neal, age 90, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013 after an extended illness. She was born in Bedford, VA to the late Marvin Spriggs and Julia Spriggs.
In addition to her parents, Etta was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Neal; two sons, Roger D. Neal and Pat Neal; three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include her son, Jack Neal of Abingdon, VA; daughters, Sandra Walters of Abingdon, VA and Deborah Cox and her husband Jim of Dublin, VA; daughters-in-law, Linda G. Neal, and Kim Neal; two sisters, Marie Brown and Zona Stewart of Texas; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; niece, Edith Bare of Emory, VA; and two special caregivers, Virginia (Jenny) Martin of Bristol, VA and Eula Stallard of Abingdon, VA.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 4, 2013 at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Reverend Bill Rowland officiating. Those who wish to attend the service are asked to convene at the cemetery by 2:00 P.M., Monday. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Southwestern Virginia Second Harvest Food Bank, 1025 Electric Drive, Salem, VA 24153.
