Eula Belle Denny Moore

Mrs. Eula Belle Denny Moore, age 89, passed away at the home of her daughter Avis Bell on Tuesday, December 10, 2013. She was born in Ashe County, NC to the late Floyd W. and Elsie Farmer Denny. Mrs. Moore was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, and she enjoyed gardening, reading and sewing. She was a member of Chestnut Grove Community Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Cameron McClain, who had battled cancer along with her; 2 brothers Walter and Paul Denny.

Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband of 70 years, Edward M. Moore; two daughters: Avis Moore Bell and husband John of Abingdon, VA; and Iris Moore Horton and husband Wade of London, KY; son Perry E. Moore and wife Debra of Abingdon, VA; sister Mae Street of Abingdon, VA; brothers Herb Denny and wife Sheila of Abingdon, VA; Jay Denny and wife Gwen of Wichita Falls, TX; Howard Denny of Lafollette, WI; and Gerald Denny and wife Sherry of Shelbyville, TN; grandchildren: Aaron Bell, Amber McClain, Brent Horton, Brad Horton, Jeffery Moore, Justin Moore, and Kimberly Moore; great-grandchildren: Connor McClain, Haley McClain, Emma McClain, Brantley Horton, Brinley Horton, and Annabel Moore; and special friends: Irene Scott, Ann Nunley, Carmen Nunley, Wanda Taylor, Helen Breedlove, Virginia Herald, Joan Worley, Sue Lee, Ted Farris, and Cathy Wyatt.

A funeral service for Mrs. Eula Belle Denny Moore will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, December 13, 2013, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with the Rev. Olen Cassell officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Aaron Bell, Jeffery Moore, Justin Moore, Carl Sullins, Keith Nunley, Jay McClain, Brad Horton and Brent Horton. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Breedlove, Mike Taylor, Ronnie Hagy, Mike Wise, Kenneth Taylor, and J. C. Scott.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
