Eula Lee Skeen, age 83 and a resident of Westminister, MD, died Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Carroll Hospital Center.

Born on June 30, 1930 in Abingdon, VA, she was the daughter of the late Leonard F. and Bessie Rourke Norris. She was the wife of the late James Denver Skeen, Sr., who predeceased her on April 30, 2008.

She was a seamstress for English-American Sewing Factory. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Independent Church.

Surviving her are children Barbara and Allen Bare of Silver Run, MD, James D. Skeen, Jr. of Westminster, MD, Donald and Darleen Skeen of South Carolina; siblings Letha Parris of Frederick, MD and Shelton Norris of Abingdon, VA; son-in-law Skeeter Bowers of New Windsor, MD; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by children Ronda Skeen, Wayne Skeen and Lula Bowers, by sister, Dorothy Profit and by brother, Junior Norris.

The family will receive friends at the Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster on Thursday from 5-8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service in Abingdon, VA. The family will receive friends at the Main Street Chapel from 9 a.m. until start of services. Officiating will be her nephew, Rev. Tommy Parris. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
