Everett W. "Buddy" Sutphin, age 76, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 16, 2013. He was a member of Seven Mile Ford Methodist Church and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was also an avid collector of trains.

He was born to the late Everett Washington Sutphin and Hallie Vaughn Sutphin Prather. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Iris James.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mariloys R. Sutphin; daughter, Jenifer Harris; two grandchildren, Dale Harris and fianc�© April Seymore and Kristin Harris; great grandchild, Corbin Harris all of Marion, VA; three sisters, Daphine Martin of Radford, VA, Betty Hudson of Johnson City, TN, and Janice Sullenger of Huntland, TN; and sister-in-law, Jimmy Lou Rosenbaum of Abingdon, VA.

Visitation will be from 7:00-9:00 p.m., Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the funeral home with Reverend David St. Clair officiating. Interment will follow at Old Glade Presbyterian Cemetery where A.L. Dungan, Butch Hicks, Robert Hicks, Alan McGhee, Tommy McGhee, and Oscar Wyatt will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Blevins and Richard Walker.

Memorial contributions may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., 1501 N. W. 9th Avenue/Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136-1494.
