Faye Carolyn Meredith Davis

Abingdon, VA – Faye Carolyn Meredith Davis, age 70, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was born in Cleveland County, NC on July 8, 1944, and was raised at Mills Home, a Baptist Children’s Home, in Thomasville, NC. At Mills Home Faye was taught about God’s love, Christian values, and how to excel in adverse situations. She retired from Jefferson Pilot, formerly Pilot Life, after 25 years of service and held various different positions in the company. She was a resident of the High Point, NC and Archdale, NC areas before relocating to Abingdon, VA 10 years ago. She was preceded in death by her birth parents, Jesse Lee Meredith and Dollie Mae Porch Meredith; a sister; and her husband of 30 years, Vance Arnold Davis. Faye is survived by her son, Henry Jennings Davis, II and wife Angel of Thomasville, NC; two daughters, Cindy Leonard and husband Randy of Welcome, NC and Stephanie Jones and husband John Paul of Chilhowie, VA; brother, Don Meredith and wife Pheabie of Clover, SC; numerous orphan brothers and sisters; grandchildren, Cody Davis, Drew Davis, Lindsay McGuire, Austin McGuire, and Jonathan Leonard; special sister-in-law, Gladys Dezern; very special friend, Keith Campbell; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 9, 2015 at Mills Home Baptist Church, 204 Idol Street, Thomasville, NC 27360, with Dr. Randy Stewart and Rev. Jim Dyer officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Honorary pallbearers will be Kip Brace, Mike Croghan, Brad Dezern, Randy Dezern, and Ed Leonard. A private committal service will be held at Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point, NC.
