Flora Belle Collins

Flora Collins, 72, died Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at Bristol Regional Medial Center in Bristol, TN. She was born September 19, 1938 to the late Earl and Ruth McGuire and was preceded in death by her husband Junior Franklin Collins.

Mrs. Collins was a lifelong member of Landmark Baptist Church and a special God-given servant of the church where she helped fulfill various duties including Church clerk, Adult Sunday School Class Secretary, organizing church meals, and especially helping with Vacation Bible School.

Survivors include two sons, Dean Collins; Allen Collins and wife Donna of Wasilla, Alaska; one daughter Susan Miller and husband Robbie of Abingdon; two sisters, Jamie Hahn and her late husband Ken of Jacksonville, FL, and Connie Melcher and her late husband PJ of Wasilla, Alaska; three brothers, Kenneth McGuire and wife Mary of Marion, VA, Bill McGuire of Saltville, VA, and Mr. & Mrs. Cecil McGuire of Korea; one grandson, Ian Miller; several nieces and nephews and a special friends, Pastor Darrell and Sarah Hamm and Patty Fields.

Services for Flora Collins will be held Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 11:00 am at Landmark Baptist Church in Glade Spring, VA with Pastor Darrell Hamm officiating. Interment services will follow at Mount Rose Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be the men of Landmark Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, October 15, 2010 at Landmark Baptist Church, 34299 Lee Highway, Glade Spring.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the IMU staff at Bristol Regional Medical Center for the compassionate care given to Mrs. Collins.
