Frances Haskins Plasmati

Frances Ethelyn Haskins Plasmati, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born at home in Grafton, NH, on June 7, 1921. She grew up in Canaan, NH, and she graduated from Bryant College in Providence, RI. She worked as an executive secretary in Providence before she was married in 1948 to Nicholas Blase Plasmati of Boston, MA. She and Nick raised their family in Walpole, MA, where they were both actively involved in the community. They retired to Deltona, FL, and moved to Abingdon, VA six years ago. They moved to Broadmore Senior Living in Bristol, TN, in the summer of 2012.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy Carr Haskins and Ethel Frazier Haskins; her siblings, Rita Haskins Webster, Eli Sam Haskins, Avis Haskins Laramie, and Roxie Haskins Boone; and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband of 64 years, Nicholas (Nick) B. Plasmati, she leaves behind her three children and their families: Kathleen Plasmati Baldwin and Jim Baldwin of Abingdon, VA; Richard Blaise Plasmati and Betsy Buckland of Foxborough, MA; and Christine Plasmati Regan and Dennis Regan of Becket, MA; six grandchildren, Shannon Baldwin O'Leary and Joe O'Leary of Boxford, MA; Jesse Baldwin and Cori Loboda-Baldwin of East Lyme, CT; Sean Regan of Boston, MA; Laura Regan of Boston, MA; Nick Plasmati of Foxborough, MA; and Sam Plasmati of Foxborough, MA; four great-grandsons, Blaise and Connor O'Leary, and Brody and Kai Baldwin; one sister-in-law, Arabelle Burns Haskins Tucker of Lebanon, NH; and several generations of beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, November 26, 2012 at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with the Rev. Liz Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rick Plasmati, Jim Baldwin, Dennis Regan, Jesse Baldwin, Sean Regan, Nick Plasmati, Sam Plasmati, Bill Derrow and David Webster serving as pallbearers. Joe O'Leary will be an honorary pallbearer. Visitation will be held from 2-3 P.M. at the chapel just prior to the service.
Despite living with Rheumatoid Arthritis for over 50 years and living with Alzheimer's Disease for the last seven years of her life, she retained her love for her family, her sparkling wit, and her positive outlook toward life. She and her husband had a strong and loving marriage, and "her Nicky" was an amazing caregiver for her throughout her struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Her legacy is one of love, kindness, and laughter.
