Fred William Scott, age 47, passed on Thursday, August 15, 2013, at his home. Fred was a U.S Army Veteran and served in Germany. He was a loving son and is preceded in death by his father, Ralph E. Scott; paternal grandfather, Joseph Scott; paternal grandmother, Mary Hartswick; and maternal grandparents, William and Myrtle Blevins Glass.
He is survived by his loving mother, Barbara Glass Scott of Meadowview, VA; brother, Joseph (Dee Dee) Scott of Damascus, VA; two sisters, Linda Bellamy of Meadowview, VA and Kathy (Doug) Hardin of Meadowview, VA; his special little buddy, Frankie Minton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Scott Spence officiating. Visitation with the family will be held 5-7 p.m. just prior to the service.
A graveside committal service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Blackwell Chapel Cemetery with Thomas Blevins, Elvis Blevins, Reelia Watson, Ronnie Musick, James Blevins, and David Snodgrass serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Scott, Doug Hardin, and Mike Hoback. Those wishing to attend the committal service are asked to convene at the cemetery before 12:30 p.m.
