Freda Kay Pilkenton Church, age 59, of Pound, Va., passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Mountain View Regional Medical Center. She was born April 2, 1959, to the late Kenneth Pilkenton and Dorothy Newsome Pilkenton in Norton, Va.
She was a member of the First Church of God in Wise. Freda is survived by her husband of 43 years, James D. Church, Sr.; two sons, James D. Church, Jr. and wife, Tracy, of Morristown, Tenn. and Joshua D. Church and wife, Shawna, of Wise, Va.; three sisters, Patsy Fleming of Telford, Tenn., Brenda Pilkenton of Norton, Va., and Denise Pilkenton of Raleigh, N.C.; and a granddaughter, Brooklyn Church.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at 5:00 p.m. at the First Church of God, 702 E. Main St., Wise, VA 24293, with Pastor Ben Murphy officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
