Freddie William Brown, 36, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2011.

Freddie was born April 23, 1974 to Nancy Farmer Brown and the late Larry Kenton Brown, in Abingdon. Freddie was a 1992 graduate of Abingdon High School, 1994 graduate of Virginia Tech. He had worked for Clear Creek Golf Course in Bristol for a number of years and for Hollows Golf Course in Ashland, VA. Freddie was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a wonderful father and loved his children deeply.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Henry Brown, maternal grandmother, Ona Farmer, paternal grandmothers, Irene Jessee Brown and Elizabeth Dorton Brown, and aunt Ann Boyd Brown.

Survivors include his sons, Jacob "Jake" William Brown and Lukas "Luke" Ryan Brown; the love of his life, Regina Hawkins Brown; his mother, Nancy Farmer Brown of Abingdon; one brother, David Brown and wife Katie of Baltimore; sister Amanda Martinez and husband, Reggie of Newport News, VA; in-laws, "Daddy Mack" Hawkins and "Mother Teresa" Hawkins; brother-in-law, Brock Hawkins and wife, Hillary of Abingdon; paternal grandfather, Paw Fred Farmer; grandmother-in-law, Oneta "Granny" Ashbrook; nieces and nephews, Maddy and Kenton Brown, Peyton and Dylan Martinez, and Abby and Alex Hawkins; good friend, Jeff"Uncle Dickie" Jordan; life-long friend, Matthew Meade.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Carvosso United Methodist Church with Rev. Leonard Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be Matthew Meade, Brock Hawkins, John Hortenstein, Michael Davenport, Josh Jones and Tony Roe. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Barrett, Johnny Gobble, Billy Hawkins, Craig Killen, Gary Lester, Luther Minor and Uncle Bill. The family will receive friends at Farris Funeral Service on Friday, April 8, 2011 from 6-9 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made for the benefit of Jacob William Brown and Lukas Ryan Brown to First Bank & Trust, PO Box 1008, Abingdon, VA 24212.

A private committal service will be held at a later date.
