Mr. Gary Martin Fields, age 67 passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016 in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Gary was born September 7, 1948 to the late Elbert Fields and Phoebe Perkins Fields. He had lived all his life in Washington County, Virginia and was owner of Highlands Appliance Service for twenty-five years. He enjoyed farming and his garden.
Gary is survived by his wife Pamela Shortt Fields, two brothers, Richard Fields of Abingdon and Darius Fields and wife, Dreamma of Roanoke, Va. Two sisters, Denna Pierce and husband, Lee and Mary Rodriguez and husband, Jose all of Abingdon. Also surviving is special friend Hazel Kennedy.
The funeral service will be conducted Friday, August 5, 2016 at 7 p.m. in Farris Funeral and Cremation Center, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, Va. with Pastor Jason Nunley officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. prior the the service. A committal service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 11 a.m. in Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Everyone is ask to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 a.m. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Carlson, Ben Tweed, Daniel Tweed, Jeffrey Shortt, Alan Hudler, and Justin Phillips.
