George William Orfield

Abingdon, VA George William Orfield, age 74, passed on Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. George worked at Kerns Bakery for over 27 years and was a member of Fleenors Memorial Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Orfield, Sr. and Hannah Atkins Orfield; first wife, June Rosenbaum Orfield; and two brothers, Steve Orfield and Woodrow Orfield, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Norris Orfield; sons, Eddie Orfield, Ricky Russell, and Tommy Russell; brother, Edwin Orfield; two sisters, Stella Blackwell and Mildred Ferguson; granddaughter, Emma Orfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Visistation with the family will be held 1:30-2:30 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2016, at Fleenors Memorial Church, 16411 Fleenors Memorial Road, Bristol, VA. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Roger Ball and Pastor Mike Dancer officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
