Mrs. Gladys McCray Taylor, 87, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011, at Grace Healthcare in Abingdon. She was a native of Washington County, daughter of the late Carl R. McCray and Venner Lou Little McCray.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart Taylor, and her son, Alvin Taylor.
Survivors include her son, Troy Taylor and wife Deborah of Bristol, TN; daughters Vivian Martin and husband Bobby of Lake Havasu City, AZ; and Sandra Rivera of Abingdon; brother Ray Branson McCray and wife Inez of Abingdon; six grandchildren: Terry Taylor, Tammy Taylor, Bethany Sirois, Kevin McCray, Joel McCray and Derek Holman; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral service for Gladys McCray Taylor will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2011, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. David Robins officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
The committal service and burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 21, 2011, at Knollkreg Memorial Park. Family and friends attending the committal service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:55 a.m.
