Glen Edgar Norris, age 55, passed after a brief illness on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Mr. Norris was a attended of Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church and loved to fish. He worked at the Bristol, VA Pepsi Cola Plant for 28 years and is preceded in death by his father, Charles Norris, and step-father, Ernest Jones.
He is survived by his mother, Bonnie Jones of Bristol, VA; sisters, Alesia "Nina" (Jim) Davis of Bluff City, TN, Diane (Bobby) Anders of Bristol, VA, and Sandy (Charles) Booher of Bristol, VA; brother, Alan (Sharlynn) Jones of Bristol, TN; special niece, Angie Carr; special great nephews, Conner and Cooper Carr; several other nieces and nephews; and his fishing buddy, Bill Merritt.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2014, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Jamie Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Tim Hurd, Jim Davis, Bobby Anders, Bill Merritt, Mike Mumpower and Brian Neeley serving as pallbearers.
Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Those wishing to express sympathy online may do so by visiting www.farrisfuneralservice.com and signing the online guest register.
