H. Russell Miller, 86, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Grace Healthcare in Abingdon.
Russell was a life-long resident of the Wyndale community in Washington County, Va. Later he was a resident of Abingdon Manor, Country Meadows Assisted Living, Baldwin's Rest Home and Grace Healthcare. He attended Three Springs Baptist in Bristol and Fellowship Baptist in Meadowview.
Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents Robert Lee Miller and Hallie Lily (Stockton) Miller; his wife, Mary Davison Miller; two brothers, Bob and Lawrence (Bud) Miller; three sisters, Lorene Harris, Ruth Blaylock and Irma Burroughs; and one grandson, Richard Eaton.
He is survived by two daughters, Robin Eaton and Carolyn (Dexter) Osborne; four granddaughters, Rochelle Eaton, Melissa (Allen) Roberts, Tina Stanley, Vickie (Matt) Poore; great-grandchildren, Danielle, Cynthia, Ricky, Jacob, Sarah and Sarah Elizabeth; two sisters, Wyn (James) Fleenor and Evelyn Gobble; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their thanks to the residents and staff of the facilities listed and also a special thanks to Dr. Ellison Conrad and staff.
A memorial service for H. Russell Miller will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at Blackwell Chapel in Meadowview, VA.
