Harrison Hoover Casey, 81, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2010 in Smyth County, Virginia.
He was born January 5, 1929 in Washington County, VA and was a son of the late John Wesley and Minnie Younce Casey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Erma Lee Casey; son, Glenn Eric Casey; two sisters, Myrtle Duncan and Pauline Venable and three brothers, James Robert Casey, Willie "Bill" Casey and Ernest Casey.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nellie Ruth Stanley Casey; two sons, Steve Casey of Baltimore, MD and Roger Casey of New York; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Patty Casey; four brothers, John S. Casey of Meadowview, VA, Dean Casey and wife, Louise of Glade Spring, Jennings Casey and wife, Viola of Baltimore, MD and Marvin Casey and wife, Helen of Abingdon; four sisters, Mable Lucille Casey of Abingdon, Cleo Pierce of Abingdon, Helen VanHoose of Abingdon and Juanita Blevins and husband, Richard of Bristol, VA.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 31, 2010 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Chad Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday.
The committal service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Rosedale Baptist Church Cemetery. Those attending are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 10:45 A.M. Pallbearers will be brothers and nephews.
