Hattie Virginia White, 88, of Abingdon, Va., passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018 in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
She was born on April 8, 1930 in Washington County, Va., and she was a seamstress for over forty years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mammie Goodson; son, Ronnie Wilson; daughter, Debbie Wilson; sisters, Susie Nunley, Mabel Leonard, and Rose Lee Shaw; and two brothers, Marvin Goodson and Clarence Goodson.
Survivors include her husband of forty-eight years, Everette L. White; sons, Darel Wilson (Shaunna), Clayton Wilson (Melanie), and Roger Wilson; two brothers, Herman Goodson (Catherine), and Burleigh Goodson; and sister Pauline Whitlow. Hattie had six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 16, 2018 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Dennis Burnette officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with grandsons and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friend from 1:00 p.m. until time for service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
