Hazel C. Dolinger

Honey Brook, PA Hazel C. Dolinger, age 91, of Honey Brook, PA and formerly of Abingdon, VA, died on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at her home, while under the loving care of her family and hospice. She was born on June 8, 1923 in North Carolina. Hazel was the daughter of Dewey and Minni (Roop) Farmer. She was the wife of the late Walter J. Dolinger, who died on May 7, 2006. Hazel was a homemaker to her beloved family. She was a member of the Wyebrook Baptist Church, where she was a teacher in Sunday School and at AWANA. Hazel enjoyed gardening and fishing. She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. Hazel is survived by two daughters, Jo Ann Hurter of Honey Brook, PA, and Brenda Moore of Reading, PA; a sister, Betty Emerson of Abingdon, VA; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral service for Mrs. Dolinger will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 26, 2014, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Dr. Austin Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home Friday from 10-11 a.m., just prior to the service.
