Helen Coleman Bailey, 79, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2010 in Grace Health Care in Abingdon.

She was born December 20, 1930 in Washington County, VA and was a daughter of the late Roy and Katie Owens Coleman. She was a member of the Church of New Beginnings in Glade Spring.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joe Bailey; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald S. and Frances Coleman; a niece, Holly Coleman and a nephew, David Coleman.

Survivors are her brothers, Jack Coleman and wife, Fran of Placerville, CA and Jerry T. Coleman and wife, Diana of Glade Spring; nieces and nephews, Howard Coleman, Jr., Linda Willmeth, Sandra Richardson, Kathy Jones, Donna Broyles, Cindy Coleman, Joe Coleman, Angie Doss, Jerry S. Coleman, Donnie Coleman, Bonnie Owens, Jerry Coleman, Jr., and Roy Coleman. Several great and great-great nieces and nephews also survive.

The family would also like to thank and acknowledge the wonderful staff of Grace Health Care and also Hospice of Southwest Virginia for the care they have provided to Mrs. Bailey over the years.

Funeral service for Mrs. Bailey will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the Forest Hills Chapel, 19415 Lee Hwy, Abingdon, VA, located on the grounds of Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Pastor Jeff Wallace will officiate. The family will be receiving friends at this location from 6:00 until 7:45 P.M. Thursday.

Committal services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 19, 2010 at Mt. Rose Cemetery Mausoleum in Glade Spring. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Coleman, Donnie Coleman, Ronnie Doss, Jerry Coleman, Jr., Roy Coleman and Archie Bailey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hands on Helpers, c/o Betty Tolley, P.O. Box 493 Glade Spring, VA 24340 or to a charity of your choice.
