Helen Frances Thomas Johnson, age 69, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 7, 2012 at Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol, TN with her family by her side. She was a member of Fellowship Chapel and helped with the local food bank. Helen retired from Food City and later was owner of Helen's Beauty Shop in Bristol, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Leslie Thomas and Frances Phipps Thomas, an infant brother and infant daughter, and sister, Martha Gragg.
She is survived by her daughter, Cassandra G. Johnson of Bristol, VA; very special friend, Kermit S. Johnson; three brothers: Ricky (Tammy) Thomas of Frederick, MD, Robert (Pam) Thomas of Middletown, MD and Mike (Jamie) Baker of Piney Flats, TN; and one sister, Linda Hawkins of Harper's Ferry, VA.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Fellowship Chapel, 201 Crockett Street, Bristol, VA, with Pastor Scott Price officiating. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 P.M. prior to the service at the church.
Burial will follow at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Knollkreg Memorial Park with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend the committal service are invited to meet at the cemetery.
