Helen Jean Crabtree Stinson

Helen Jean Crabtree Stinson, 72, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, August 22, 2010.
Helen was born in Appomatox, VA on August 20, 1938 to the late Estes James and Carrie Jane Mullins Crabtree. She lived most of her life in Dickenson County and had resided in Bristol for the past 15 years. She attended Living Faith Freewill Baptist Church. Helen worked for Piggly Wiggly for many years and earned her CNA license at age 54. She was a loving caregiver to many. A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be forever remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy Marvin Stinson, parternal grandmother, Pearlie Ann Crabtree and her brother and sister, David and Penny Crabtree.
Survivors include three daughters, Rita Maine and husband, Donnie of Coeburn, VA, Ronda Lyall and husband Jeffery of Bristol, TN, and Charlotte Christian and her husband Curtiss of Tazewell, VA; one son Ivan Fleming of Smyrna, TN; special foster son, Elmer Baker of the home; four brothers, Charles Crabtree and wife Julie of Louisa, KY, Larry Crabtree and wife Barbara of Morristown, TN, Dean Crabtree and wife Lana of Castlewood, VA, and Jackie Crabtree of Bristol, VA; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; very special niece Jenny Crabtree-Boggs of Bristol, VA; special friends Viola, Oma and Edna; special neighbors Larry and Norma; a very special sister-in-law, Juanita Mullins and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm, Monday, August 23, 2010 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Scott Green officiating. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 11:00 am at Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood. Those wishing to travel in procession to the cemetery are asked to assemble at Farris Funeral Service by 9:45 AM. Pallbearers will be Patrick McConnell, Brian McConnell, David Sturgill, Jordan Fleming, Greg Crabtree, and Ronald Crabtree. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Bates, Hunter Maine and Dustin Fleming. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until the time of the service on Monday.
