Herman A. "Po" Hogston, II, age 50, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Johnston Memorial Hospital following a two year battle with cancer.

He was a 1980 graduate of Abingdon High School and a 1986 graduate of James Madison University and a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. Po worked as a pharmaceutical representative with Abbott Pharmaceutical for 13 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Herman A. Hogston.

Survivors include his wife, Melissa Bailey Hogston; one son, Samuel Blake Hogston; his mother, Mary L. Hogston; three sisters, Beverly Hogston Sharrett and husband Stuart of Bristol, TN, Karen L. Hogston of Bristol TN and Heather Hogston Lambert and husband Matt of Mt. Carmel, TN; three nephews Benjamin Sharrett of Bristol TN, Chase and Tyler Bailey both of Abingdon; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ken and Rita Bailey of Abingdon.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Jerry Eggers officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with David Douglas, Scott Phillips, Don Parr, Don Henderson, Steve Bassham, Todd Creasy, Steve Miller and Greg Altizer serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Hogston, Roger Hogston, Charlie Henderson, Dr. Rob Pritchard, Joey Johnson, Kemery Street, Tommy Smith and brothers of the JMU Lambda Chapter of the Kappa Sigma.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 6-9 p.m.
