Hubert Kyle Goins, 69, passed on Sunday, October 7, 2018, in Johnson City Medical Center. Kyle was raised in Maryland and moved to Glade Spring in 1993. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam Conflict. Kyle loved to fish and was a Dallas Cowboys fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Juanita Burchett Goins, and step-mother, Molly Goins. Kyle is survived by his wife of 47 years, Shirley Warner Goins; sons, Hubert Wade (Michelle) Goins of McKinney, Texas and Derek Kyle (Gay Lynn) Goins of New Orleans, La.; brother, Sam (Patty) Goins of Waynesboro, Penn.; sisters, Linda (Larry) Barnard of Mt. Airy, Md. and Brenda (Robert) Hyatt of Weaverville, N.C.; grandchildren, McKenzie, Travis, and Natalie Goins, and Taylor and Madeline Alva; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2018, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Arthur Chapman officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Rose Cemetery with military rites conducted by Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the Virginia National Guard.
