H. G. McCall, Jr., 74, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 in Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie.
He was a dedicated farmer his entire life.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Charlotte McCall and his parents, Hugh and Vivian McCall.
He is survived by his daughter, Glenda McCall of Abingdon; grandson, David McCall; great granddaughter, McKenna; sisters, Martha and husband, Roy Johnston of Virginia Beach, VA and Frances McCall of Guatemala; brothers Harold and wife, Marlene McCall of Kingsport, TN and Phillip McCall of Abingdon and several nieces and nephews.
The family would also like to especially thank the staff at Valley Health Care for making it a home for him for the past 2 years.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, in care of "Sydney's Sweethearts", at the JDRF Tidewater Chapter, 5712 Cleveland St., Suite 100, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 P.M. Friday, February 11, 2011 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Larry Lusk officiating. The family will be receiving friends Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until the service time.
Committal services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Knollkreg Memorial Park Mausoleum in Abingdon. Those attending the committal are asked to meet at the cemetery Saturday morning by 10:50 A.M.
