Ila LouEllen Nicholson Brewer, 83, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 23, 2010.
She was born in Tamassee, SC and had lived in North and South Carolina until retiring to Florida, where she lived until moving to Abingdon three years ago. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were the most precious part of her life. She attended Abingdon United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Elizabeth Lay Winchester Nicholson; an infant daughter, Janice Arlene Brewer, siblings, Frank Winchester, Betty McKendree, Nancy Dooley, Peggy Sue Ramey and Pete Nicholson.
She is survived by her husband, George Frank Brewer; her son, Tony Brewer and wife, Cindy of Abingdon; grandchildren, Ashley Fernheimer and husband, Justin of Chesapeake, VA, Phillip Brewer and Emily Brewer both of Abingdon; brother, Bob Nicholson and wife, Linda of Live Oak, Florida; sister, Martha Anderson and husband, Andy of Summerfield, FL; special sister-in-law, Runella Winchester of South Carolina and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 26, 2010 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Walter Weikel officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Brewer, Justin Fernheimer, Michael Kenley, Christopher Yon, Bill White and Ralph White.
The family will receive friends at Farris Funeral Service for one hour prior to the service on Monday.
