Jackie Ramona Young, age 80, passed on Thursday, February 4, 2016, in Smyth County Community Hospital. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Clifton Young and Mattie Jefferson Young; son, Bryant Young; sisters, Lillian Wheeler and Mary Elizabeth Woods, Anna Ruth Young, and Peggy Young; and son-in-law, Gordon Atkinson.
She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Atkinson of Chilhowie, VA and Mary Pope of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren, Tasha Young, Eunice Atkinson, Faith Pope, Genesis Pope, and Joshua Pope; and five great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2016, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Willie Austin officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the service.
