James Guy Broyles

James Guy Broyles, 86, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 20, 2019. He was born to the late James Andrew and Martha Belle Broyles on July 16, 1932, in Wise, Va. Guy worked as a machinist and had retired from Bristol Compressors. He was of the Baptist faith. When family members are asked about Guy, their first thought is the love that he had for his wife, Lois, who predeceased him on September 14, 2013. Guy was an avid reader as well as a John Wayne and Virginia Tech football fan.
Guy is survived by his sons, James Guy Broyles, Jr. and wife Carol of Bristol, Va., Louis Broyles and wife Sheila of Hays, N.C., and Roy Emerson Broyles and wife Pat of Abingdon; grandchildren Devon Broyles of Bristol, Va., Telana Fairchild and husband Jacob of Upton, Mass., Chris Broyles and wife Victoria of Winston-Salem, N.C., Joshua Broyles of Houston, Texas, and Amanda Broyles of Hays, N.C.; great-grandchildren Rylee Broyles, Emilyn Fairchild and Daniel Fairchild; sisters Jean Broyles Wampler of Anderson, Ind. and Joyce Jones of Appalachia, Va.; and special friends Jody and Angie Moore.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 1:50 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2019 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. At 1:50 p.m. family and friends will process from the funeral home to Knollkreg Memorial Park for a graveside service with Pastor Paul Collins officiating. Casket bearers will be Jim Broyles, Em Broyles, Louis Broyles, Chris Broyles, Joshua Broyles, and Jody Moore.
