James Henderson Jim Nash, age 98, of Bristol, Va., passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at Christian Care Center in Johnson City, Tenn. He was born to the late Thomas C. Nash and Lillie Mae Ball Nash on September 27, 1917, in Abingdon, Va. Jim was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during World War II, was self-employed as a general contractor, and was a member of Shiloh Freewill Baptist Church. He will be remembered as a loving grandfather and great grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Louise Christine Wright Nash; daughter, Norma Jean Nash Malcolm; three brothers, Charles Nash, Herbert Nash, and Orville Nash; four sisters, Lottie Tester, Peggy Carty, Frances Frankie Brewer, and Lorraine Grubb.

Jim is survived by two grandchildren, Cindy Malcolm Anderson and husband Rick of Fayetteville, Tenn. and Tracy Malcolm Eades and husband Tim of Bristol, Va.; brother, Ellis L. Nash of Bristol, Va.; sister, Willetta Leonard of Bristol, Tenn.; five great grandchildren, Dustin Eades and fiance Mickey Dodd, Sydney Eades, Julia Anderson, Nathanael Anderson and wife Laura, and Victoria Anderson, a great-great grandson, Levi Anderson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 2016, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jack Sprinkle officiating. A committal service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, February 15, 2016, at Mountain View Cemetery in Bristol, Va. where Military Honors will be provided by the VFW Post 6975 Bristol and the United States Navy. Pallbearers will be Nathanael Anderson, Joey Blaylock, Steve Blaylock, Ted Blaylock, Dustin Eades, and Sandy Nash. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Baker, Roy Murray, Tom Puckett, and Earl Tignor.
