James "Poochie" Wright, Jr.

Abingdon, VA – James Henry “Poochie” Wright, Jr., age 62, passed on Friday, January 16, 2015, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. James worked as a cook at Emory & Henry College for over 20 years and was of the Baptist Faith. He was loved by many and will be remembered for his smile and his laughter. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Cathleen Sawyers Wright; brother, Robert Wright; and sister, Virginia Fields. He is survived by two sisters, Mary Alice Wright of Bristol, VA and Blanche Wright of Abingdon, VA; one brother, David Wright of Meadowview, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
