James Thomas Howell, Jr., 59, passed away at his home in Meadowview, VA, on Saturday, June 9, 2012.
He was born on November 28, 1952 in Bathe, Maine to James T. Howell, Sr. and the late Naomi Esther Howell. He is also preceded in death by one brother, David Steele.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie Stevens Howell; father, James T. Howell, Sr. of Woodbridge, VA; three sons, James T. Howell, III and wife Tina of Abingdon, VA, David Howell of Kingsport, TN, Kevin Howell of Fairfax, VA; one step-son, Shane VanDyke and wife Renee of Saltville, VA; one daughter, Robin Howell of Meadowview, VA; six sisters, Linda Beatson of Woodbridge, VA, Janice Patrick of Bristol, TN, Cheryl Collins of Kingsport, TN, Dorothy Arbaugh of Morristown, TN, Dana Scott of Bristol, VA and Sharon Faulk of Myrtle Beach, SC; three grandchildren, Brittany, Anastasia, and Xander Howell; and two step-grandchildren, Abby and Gavin VanDyke.
A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Wes Belcher officiating. Interment will follow at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Mountain View Cemetery in Bristol, VA. Pallbearers will be Justin Lane, Randall Patrick, Allen Patrick, Barry Arbaugh, Sam Rutter, Jimmy Osborne, Jr., Allen Patrick, Sr., Tyler Burton, John Moore, and Lewis Rutter. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service.
