Janet Lanett Hogston Rose, age 48, passed away July 7th, 2012 at Marquette General Hospital in Marquette, MI. Janet was born July 7th, 1964 in Saltville, VA, a daughter of Roger & Dorothy Hogston. With a kind, compassionate heart and unconditional love, Janet spent much of her time helping others through depression and anxiety in online support groups worldwide. Because Janet was an organ donor, she gave in death as she gave in life.
Janet is preceded in death by her sister, Tammy Dawn Hogston; maternal grandparents, Leon & Martha Dean; paternal grandfather, Sherman Hogston; and aunt, Barbara Jean DeBord. She is survived by her paternal grandmother, Willa Hogston; parents, Roger & Dorothy Hogston of Abingdon, VA; daughter, Tasha Little of Sugar Grove, VA; sisters, Vickie Hogston and Michele (Mark) Miller, both of Abingdon, VA; nieces, Tanya Viars and Madison Miller, both of Abingdon, VA.; a special aunt who remained by Janet's side in the hospital the past month, Carolyn (Bunny) Call of Abingdon, VA; and a special friend Joe Defalico.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 11th, 2012 at Knoll-Kreg Memorial Park in Abingdon, VA with Minister Chris Payne officiating. Visitation with the family will be at Roger & Dorothy's home, 708 Mosby Street, Abingdon, VA, following the service. Honorary pallbearers will be her Facebook friends. In lieu of flowers, the family will accept contributions towards burial expenses.
