Jeannine Widener, age 80, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2013 at her home. She owned and operated Jeannine's Fabrics and Quilt Shop from 1968 to 2012, and was a member of Abingdon United Methodist Church.
She was born to the late Ernest Ford Davenport and Nannie Kate Meade Davenport on April 20, 1932 in Russell County, VA. She was also preceded in death by her brother, William Carlyle Davenport.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 34 years, Gene R. Widener; one son, Jimmy D. Thompson, Jr. and wife Paula McCray Thompson of Abingdon, Virginia; one daughter, Cindy Thompson Robinette and husband Stan Robinette; and two granddaughters, Kaitlyn Joanna Robinette and Rebecca Suzanne Robinette, all of Corona, CA.
Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m., Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m., Thursday with Reverend Jerry Eggers officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
