Jerry Allen Rosenbaum, Sr., age 69, passed away on Thursday February 16, 2017 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Jerry was a lifelong resident of Abingdon, VA and worked at Glenrochi Golf Course. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Church. Jerry loved to watch Western Movies, especially those starring John Wayne. His truck brought him great joy, as he enjoyed painting it, customizing it, and sharing it with friends.

Jerry was predeceased by his parents Robert A. and Susie K. Rosenbaum; sons Jamie and Allen Rosenbaum; 6 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by his daughter Bobbie Jo Griggs and husband Steve of Pembroke, VA; brothers James Rosenbaum of Abingdon and Johnny Rosenbaum of Glade Spring; sisters Betty King of Bristol, VA, Mary Sullins and Janie Bowman both of Abingdon; grandchildren Melissa Spicer, Robert Conley and David Rosenbaum and 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Jerry is also survived by special companion Barbara Sullins and special friend Randy Reynolds. Special survivors also include niece Jewel Roark who loved and cared for Jerry during his time of illness.

A funeral service for Jerry Allen Rosenbaum, Sr. will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday February 20, 2017 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Paul Price officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
