Jimmy D. Thompson Sr.

Jimmy D. Thompson, Sr., age 82, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2012 at Bristol Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born to the late James Vernon Thompson and Bessie Crenshaw Thompson on November 28, 1929. Having driven for Super Service and Time DC he was a proud recipient of the Million Mile Safe Driving Award. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Nancy J. Whitt Thompson; one son, Jimmy D. Thompson, Jr. and wife Paula of Abingdon, Virginia; and one daughter, Cindy Robinette and husband Stan of Corona, California; one brother, Jack C. Thompson and wife Joan of Clearwater, Florida; and one sister, Betty Lou Baillairge of Largo, Florida; and two granddaughters, Kaitlyn Robinette and Rebecca Robinette.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 13, 2012 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Brad Davis and Rev. Bob Steele officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 13, 2012 at the funeral home. Those wishing to attend the committal service are asked to convene at 3:00 p.m., Monday, May 14, 2012 at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Goodson, J.D. King, Ralph Gallaher, and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, Virginia 22312, or the Alzheimer's Association, 207 North Boone Street #1500, Johnson City, Tennessee 37604.
