JoAnn McNew Casey

JoAnn McNew Casey, age 74, passed on Monday, February 10, 2014, at her home. JoAnn was born October 5, 1939 in the Hayter's Gap Community of Washington County, VA to the late William Newton McNew and Martha Gilley McNew. Mrs. Casey attended Lighthouse for Jesus Church in Elizabethton, TN. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by three sons, Otis (Leisa) Thompson of Glade Spring, VA, Joey (Pat) Thompson of Piney Flats, TN, and Terry (Kristie) Thompson of Bristol, TN; one daughter, Debbie Strouth of Bluff City, TN; four sisters, Oakie Litton of Meadowview, VA, Margaret Walsh of Bristol, VA, June McCray of Bristol, TN, and Reba McCray of Saltville, VA; six grandchildren, Shannon Thompson, Brandon Thompson, Aaron White, Garrett Thompson, Terry Whitaker, and Cari Ann Peters; two great-grandchildren, Malory and Cadence Thompson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2014, at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Bro. Bill Younce officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation with the family will be held 12-2 p.m. prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in Mrs. Casey's name.
