John D. White, age 82, passed away on November 1, 2012 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was a proud veteran of the Army National Guard having served 40 years. He was a member of Brumley Gap Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of King Masonic Lodge #461 in Bristol, TN.
He was born to the late Frank White and Annie Seymore White. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Gladys Bell White; one daughter, Shirley White Gregory and husband Harlund of Bristol, VA; one son, Johnny White and wife Nancy of Meadowview, VA; one sister, Mary Widner of Abingdon, VA; four grandchildren, Denise Bunn, Cheryl White-McLeod, Jason Brewer, and Steven White; six great grandchildren, Shea Bunn, Madelyne White, Julia White, Noah White, Ande McLeod, and Emily Brewer; and one great-great granddaughter.
Military honors will be presented by Highlands Veterans Honor Guard at a private service for the family.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Ulrich, Dr. Davis, and the nurses and staff on the third floor of Johnston Memorial Hospital.
