John Franklin Scruggs

Abingdon, VA – John Franklin Scruggs, age 59, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Specialty Select Hospital in Bristol, TN. John was born in Gaffney, SC and resided in Panama City Beach for many years. John was the construction superintendent at the Shores of Panama and was a hard worker, loving father, and husband. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Franklin Scruggs and Dorothy Collins Scruggs; sisters, Kathy Gordon, Judy Proctor, and Martha Scruggs Foster. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Shelia Vandyke Scruggs; three daughters, Leslie (Dewey, III) Brown, Keisha (Carlos Mario) Solis, and Dana (Robert, Jr.) Mabry; two sisters, Linda Sprouse and Joyce Cody; grandchildren, Savannah Belle Brown, Dewey Brown, IV, Melissa Lee Solis, and Michael Sloan Solis.
