John Robert Billiter, 75, passed away Monday, April 18, 2011.
Born February 18, 1936 in Toler, KY, Mr. Billiter had been a resident of Carrington Place in Wytheville, VA for the past three years. He served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years and was a Virginia State Trooper for thirty years before his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel Lorene Billiter; his father, Richard Billiter and two sisters, Janice Paine and Judy Shaffer.
He is survived by his son, Michael Alan Billiter of Wytheville; and one brother and sister-in-law, James and Shirley Billiter of Vansant, VA.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 21, 2011 in the Forest Hills Chapel, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA with Chaplain Rex Carter of the Virginia State Police officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 P.M. Thursday. Interment will follow the service in Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Virginia State Police Honor Guard will be present to conduct full honors and serve as pallbearers.
