Julie Ann Schmitt, 48, of Abingdon, Virginia passed away at home peacefully in her sleep on Saturday February 27, 2016. She was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on November 4, 1967, to Roger and Barbara (Younger) Schmitt.
Julie attended Ashwaubenon schools, moved to Florida in her early twenties and after 14 years there moved to Abingdon, Virginia. Although she spent over half of her life away, she still considered Wisconsin home and missed living here with her family and friends.
She had a great sense of humor and a unforgettable laugh, was a sports fan, mainly the Packers, loved music, especially Tom Petty. She also never missed an episode of Seinfeld. On her trips back, her first stop was always Krolls.
Julie is survived by her parents, Roger and Barbara Schmitt of Ashwaubenon; her three sons who she dearly loved, Carl (CJ) Delain (Holly Bikman) of Oconto Falls, Joseph (Jay) and Justin Hagy of Abingdon, VA; her brother Paul (Diane) Schmitt and their children, Cory and Rebecca of Jackson, MO; sister Holly Schmitt (Carter Mabbitt) and her children James, Jazlyn, Jordyn, and Jayden Voss, and Brooklynn Van Pay, all of De Pere.
Julie is further survived by her special friend, Mark Roskos of Abingdon, VA.
She was preceded in death by both her maternal and paternal grandparents and an uncle.
A memorial service was held in Abingdon, VA on Monday, March 7, 2016. There will be a celebration of Julies life in Green Bay at a future date
