June S. Rasnake passed away October 11, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents Simon and Snoda Sutherland; one brother, Pete Morrison Sutherland; and one sister, Jane Mondrage.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, James Cornet Rasnake; one daughter, Angie Rasnake and partner Randy Copeland, both of Abingdon, Virginia; one granddaughter, Kasey Jo Bratton Hagie and husband Kevin Hagie, and one great-grandson, Trippton James Hagie, all of Anniston, AL; two sisters, Lois Rose and Lorraine Stanley, both of Abingdon; several nieces, nephews, and special friends, Dr. William Handy, Dr. Joseph Smiddy and Dr. Don Quinn.
A funeral service will be held at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Tam Hill officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Saturday prior to the service at the Forest Hills Chapel. The graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Bill Keene, Mike Rose, Mark Rose, Terry Ratliff, Erik Rasnake and Matt Rasnake.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greeneville, SC 29605, or The Wellmont Hospice House, 280 Steeles Road, Bristol, TN 37620. The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff at Wellmont Hospice House.
