Junior Fleming, age 87, passed on Sunday, February 23, 2014, at Grace Health Care. Mr. Fleming was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during WWII. He was a coal miner for most of his life and is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Rena Willis Fleming; wife, Margaret Lewis Fleming; son, Vernon Fleming; and several siblings.
He is survived by a host of extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at the Colonial Chapel Mausoleum of Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Jerry Eggers officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. just prior to the service in the mausoleum.
Military Rites will be conducted by Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the Virginia National Guard. Those wishing to express sympathy online may do so by visiting www.farrisfuneralservice.com and signing the online guest register.
