Junior Lee "Jim" Steffey, age 64, passed on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at his home. Jim was born in Red Ash, VA and moved to Washington County as a child. He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard Lee Steffey and Mary Lucille Rose Steffey; brother, Reece Steffey; and sister, Mary Ray.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Eva Thomas Steffey; son, Tim Steffey and wife Dolynda of Chilhowie, VA; daughter, Janice Steffey of Glade Spring, VA; brother, Robert Steffey and wife Hazel of Bristol, TN; two sisters, Margaret Cross of Bristol, TN and Betty Gentry of Meadowview, VA; three grandchildren, Keven, Heaven, and Steven Crick; special niece, Deana Thomas; special sister-in-law, Tonda Thomas; and two special brothers-in-law, Clyde Ray and Eugene Thomas.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 18, 2013, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor William Hamm officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Mark Street, Harvey Thomas, Scotty St. John, Carl Skeens, Jr., Joe Wilson, John Hicks, Junior Widener, and Tim Widener serving as pallbearers.
Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m. Sunday, November 17th at the funeral home. The family would like to give thanks to Mr. Steffey's nurses, Norma Fry and Tisha Gobble.
