Karen Eileen Degon Foran

Karen Eileen Degon Foran, age 64, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 15, 2012 at her home with her loving family and her best friend Barbara Sullins by her side.
Karen was born February 22, 1948 in Springfield, MA to the late Howard H. Degon and Eileen Henry Degon. Karen was a loving wife to her late husband, Larry Foran, as well as a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by one daughter, Shannon Foran of Abingdon, VA and grandson Christian Foran; two siblings who she and her husband raised as their own, sister, Kathy Degon (David) Daniel of Johnson City, TN and brother, Jon (Jane) Degon of Abingdon, VA; brothers, Alan Degon and Jimmy Degon both of Springfield, MA; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Brother Calvin Gobble officiating. Pallbearers will be Jon Degon, Darrell Hall, Eric Draper, David Daniel, Sr., David Daniel, Jr. and Jamie Sullins.
Those who wish to travel in procession to the cemetery are asked to convene at the funeral home before 10:30 A.M. Thursday. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Mrs. Foran's name. Those wishing to express sympathy online may do so by visiting www.farrisfuneralservice.com and signing the online guest register.
