Katy Sue Mullins Jones, 67, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2011 at Johnson City Medical Center.
Katy was born December 27, 1943 in Haysi, VA to the late Cline and Oma Edwards Mullins. She had lived in Washington County, VA for over 30 years and was a member of Denton Valley Baptist Church. Katy worked for a number of years as a nurse aide. She enjoyed outdoor activities and loved flowers.
Survivors include two sons, Dale Jones and wife Tina and Steven Jones and wife Lou, all of Glade Spring, VA; one daughter, Lynn Johnson and fianc�©e, Mark Talbert of Meadowview, VA; two brothers Gary Mullins of Meadowview, and Bill Mullins and wife, Stephanie of Glade Spring; one sister, Nancy Keen and husband, James of Glade Spring; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 7:00 PM at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Tim Stevens officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30pm until the time of the service. The graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 11 am at Forest Hills Memory Gardens, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA with the men of Denton Valley Baptist Church serving as pallbearers. The funeral procession will be leaving from the funeral home at 10:40 am on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 2680, North Canton, OH 44720.
