Kelly Lynette Pickle

Kelly Lynette Pickle, age 53, of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 23, 2019, following a lengthy battle with cancer. She was an employee of Mid-Mountain Foods.
She was preceded in death by her father, Forrest Patton Pickle; infant sister, Stephanie Lynn Pickle; paternal grandparents, Lee Pickle and Mary McNew Pickle; maternal grandparents, Charlie Bennett and Mae McDowell Bennett; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Kelly is survived by her loving son, Channing Patton Pickle and wife, Bianca, of Palm Desert, Calif.; mother, Nellie Bennett Pickle of Abingdon, Va.; her beloved grandson, Atlas Patton Pickle; brother, Stephen Patton Pickle of Greenville, N.C.; sister, Carla Joy Lang and husband, Paul, of Gastonia, N.C.; paternal uncle, Kermit Pickle and wife, Peggy, of Landrum, S.C.; paternal aunt, Neva Childers and husband, Bill, of Abingdon, Va.; maternal aunt, Doris Cassidy of Bridgeton, N.J.; special cousin, Donna “Kay” Scott; and several additional cousins.
A funeral ceremony will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Ronald Matney officiating. Interment will follow at Russell Memorial Cemetery in Lebanon, Va. where Larry Boyd, Terry Boyd, Michael Van Dyke, Richard Keene, Tony Lewis, and Wade Sutherland will serve as pallbearers. Kelly’s cousins and work family will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105. The family would like to express a special thanks to Eula Stallard and Tammy White; as well as, the nurses in the IV Fusion Center at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
