Lennis Childers Stout

Bristol, VA – Lennis Childers Stout, age 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, January 5, 2015, at Wellmont Hospice House. She was born to the late Joshua and Ila Mae Childers on Rattle Creek in Washington County, VA. Lennis later moved with her family to Childress Hollow, where she grew up. She raised her children in Baltimore, MD and later moved to Ocala, FL before moving back to Bristol. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Bristol, TN. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dale Stout; daughter, Gail Stout; granddaughter, Cherie Blizzard; and three brothers, Lou Preston “L.P.” Childress, James Earl Childers, and Ralph Childers. She is survived by her daughter, Bettye Johnson of Bristol, VA; a very special granddaughter, Sarah Johnson Alcantara of Boise, ID; three sisters, Ann Ledford and husband Bill of North Carolina, Jackie Piper and Ruby Brannon, both of Florida; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. At Mrs. Stout’s request, there will be no public services. There will be a private graveside prayer service the afternoon of January 7, 2015 at Knollkreg Memorial Park.
