Linda Cumbow

Linda Cumbow, 67, of Catlin , IL passed away on Monday, July 23, 2012, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria , IL .
She was born September 18, 1944 to the late Tony and Ruby Lewis Kruzich, Jr. Linda married the love of her life, Donald Cumbow, on June 20, 1964 in Catlin. He preceded her in death on September 30, 1996. She is survived by the lights of her life: two daughters, Malinda (John) Radloff, II of Morton, IL and Suzanne Cumbow of Gardiner , MT ; one brother, Phillip (Linda) Kruzich of Catlin; three grandsons, Garris, Kaden, and Drake Radloff; and several nieces and nephews.
Linda graduated Catlin High School in 1963. She enjoyed being a homemaker and stay-at-home Mom and was considered a second Mom by many of her children's friends. She served as 4-H leader, sewed and provided baby blankets for the newborns at the United Samaritans Hospital in Danville , and volunteered for church, school, community activities throughout her life. Linda was a member of the Catlin Church of Christ; she enjoyed cooking for church functions and being a member of the "Senior Saints" group. She was well known throughout the family as being the best cook and seamstress. Her chicken and noodles and ability to sew anything from Halloween costumes to prom dresses were legendary.
Everyone who knew Linda knew her passion in life was her family, and they called her presence in their lives a blessing. She was totally devoted to her children and grandchildren. Linda enjoyed her annual trek to Yellowstone National Park to visit Suzanne. Linda was thrilled to be a grandmother and doted on her grandsons. Linda and her dog Dash often drove the two hours plus to Malinda's house to attend the boys' athletic events, recitals, concerts, etc. She also enjoyed babysitting her great-nieces, Katie and Sarah. Linda was an avid gardener and loved flowers and canning.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2012, at the Catlin Church of Christ. A private burial will be held at Knollkreg Memorial Park in Abingdon , VA.
