Lois Ann Compton Hughes

Abingdon, VA Lois Ann Compton Hughes, age 73, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015. She was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. She was preceded in death by her father, Maven Howard Compton; husband, Ralph Allen Hughes; two sons, Timothy Allen Hughes and James Richard Hughes; brother, Maven McKinley Compton; sister, Terry Lee Harris; and grandson, Christopher Allen Hughes. She is survived by her mother, Zora Mae Miller Compton; son, Michael Wayne Hughes of Abingdon; daughter, Michele Hughes (Joseph Larry) Goodson of the home; two brothers, James Darrell (Mary) Compton of Honaker and Larry Alan Compton of Boonville, NC; four sisters, Katherine Marie Helton and Pearl Nadine (Harless) Hess all of Honaker, Sylvia Jean (Clinton) Lester of Big Rock, and Shirley Faye Compton of Honaker; three grandchildren, James Brian (Carolyn Hartley) Hughes of the home, Hannah Renee Hughes of Glade Spring, and Abigail Victoria Hughes of Meadowview; two great grandchildren, Cash and Jonathan; special friends, Emily Kate and Rebecca Ann; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 27, 2015, at 2:30 p.m.,or upon arrival in procession from Abingdon, at the Clark Family Cemetery in Honaker with the Reverend Harless Hess officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, August 27th from 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Clinton Lester and Clinton Lester, Jr. will serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to defer the cost of final expenses.
