Lois Geneva Martin

Meadowview, VA

Lois Geneva Martin, age 88, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 22, 2019, surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Meadowview, VA and resided there most of her life. In her early years she was employed by Hanes Knitting and Gordon Garments before starting a life long career as a florist. Lois, along with her husband, owned and operated Martin’s Flowers in Damascus, Virginia. However, she was best known as a licensed minister of the gospel through the International Pentecostal Holiness Church. She served as pastor to Chilhowie PH Church and Fuller Street PH church in Bristol, VA. She was also a founding member of Life Line Ministries Outreach in Meadowview, VA.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and her husband of 62 years Clarence A. Martin. She is survived by daughter, Deborah Osborne and husband, Randall; son, Darrell Martin and wife, Dianna; grandchildren, Manisha Carver and husband, Richard, Eric Martin and wife, Felicia, and Keith Osborne and wife, Charisa;  step grandchildren, Kevin Osborne and wife, Tina, Aaron Osborne and wife, Marsha, and Uneva Prater and husband Tom; seven great grandchildren, four step great grandchildren, sister Joyce “Dot” Jones and many nieces and nephews  

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Thursday, April 25, 2019, at Life Line Ministries, 29255 Ryan Road, Meadowview, VA. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Friday, April 26, 2019, at the church with Pastors Darrell Martin and Richard Carver officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Eric Martin, Keith Osborne, Isaac Carver, Kevin Osborne, Trevor Williams and Tony Stacy serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the women and men of Life Line Ministries.

The family would like to extend special thanks to faithful neighbor Peggy Gregory, nurse Tracy Yarber, PT therapist Becky and the church family of Life Line Ministries.
